South Chungcheong
Chungcheongnam-do is a region that brings together historical relics from Baekje's ancient capitals of Gongju and Buyeo with the West Sea's tidal flats and beaches. Historic sites such as Gongsanseong Fortress, Busosanseong Fortress, and Gyeongnamji are well preserved, and the Daecheon and Anmyeon Island beaches connect with hot spring areas, making it easy to combine history and relaxation into a single itinerary. With good accessibility from the Seoul metropolitan area, it is a popular weekend destination.
Gongju and Buyeo are close by, allowing you to see Baekje relics in a single day. The West Sea beaches have beautiful sunsets, so it is good to schedule them for the afternoon. Tidal flat experiences have available times determined by tide conditions. Hot spring areas such as Onyang and Dogo are suitable as winter travel destinations.
