Gyeonggi
Gyeonggi-do is a vast region surrounding Seoul, with characteristics that vary greatly depending on your interests. The spectrum is wide, ranging from historical heritage such as Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and Namhansanseong Fortress, to large-scale theme facilities like Everland and Korean Folk Village, to the rivers and forests of Gapyeong and Yangpyeong, and even to the border area of Paju and the Publishing City. Being close to Seoul, it is ideal for day trips, and well-suited for multiple visits divided by area.
Given the wide area, it is better not to combine the southern region (Suwon and Yongin) and the northern region (Paju and Pocheon) in a single itinerary. Gapyeong and Yangpyeong are accessible by subway (Gyeongchun Line and Jungang Line), so public transportation is convenient. Weekend traffic on roads in the Seoul metropolitan area is congested, so an early departure is recommended. For theme parks, advance booking can significantly reduce waiting times.
