Ulsan
Though known as an industrial city, Ulsan is also a travel destination with a coastline facing the East Sea and the Yeongnam Alps mountain range. Notable attractions include the rocky cliffs and pine forests of Daewangam Park, the sunrise at Ganjeolgot, and the bamboo groves of Taehwa River National Garden. The area also has historical resources such as Jangsengpo, which addresses whale culture, and Bangudae Petroglyphs. The proximity of the city and nature means minimal travel burden.
Ganjeolgot is one of the places on the Korean Peninsula where the sun rises earliest, making it suitable for early morning schedules. The Taehwa River Ten-ri Bamboo Forest has flat walking paths that are easy to traverse for people of all ages and abilities. The silvergrass in the Yeongnam Alps reaches its peak in autumn, and cable cars make access easier. The area is often included in itineraries together with Busan and Gyeongju, which are nearby.
