Gwangju
Gwangju is a city where art and modern history flow together. Exhibitions and performances continue centered around the National Asia Culture Center, and Yanglim-dong Modern History and Culture Village retains old missionary houses and alleyways. Mudeungsan Mountain, visible from anywhere in the city, is a hiking destination for all four seasons, with nature very close to the urban landscape. It is also the center of Namdo food culture.
The National Asia Culture Center and Chungjangnro·Yanglim-dong are close by and can be covered in one day. The Mudeungsan Jeungsimsa direction is accessible by city bus, making public transportation convenient. Namdo hanjeongsik requires advance reservation as it needs time and group arrangements. Sites related to May 18 are scattered throughout the city, and visiting them together deepens understanding.
