Incheon
Incheon is a city that combines the original downtown area with modern architecture and Chinatown from the opening-up period, the West Sea with its islands and tidal flats, and the planned city landscape of Songdo. With the airport nearby, it is convenient to add a day at the start or end of your trip, and with many island destinations such as Ganghwa Island, Yeongjeong Island, and Muui Island, you can enjoy both the city and nature at once.
Chinatown, Donghwa Village, and Freedom Park are clustered around Incheon Station and can be toured on foot. For Ganghwa Island and island areas, public transportation is infrequent, so renting a car or driving your own vehicle is convenient. The West Sea has large tidal differences, so you should check the tide times in advance for mudflat experiences. Booking accommodation near the airport gives you flexibility for early departures and late arrivals.
