Busan

Busan is Korea's second-largest city, where the sea and mountains, harbor and urban center meet. It is broadly divided into three areas: the eastern coastal area centered on Haeundae and Gwangan-ri, the original downtown area of Nampo-dong, Jagalchi, and Yeongdo, and the northeastern coastal area of Gijang and Songjeong, each with distinctly different atmospheres. If you visit one area per day, you can enjoy both the sea and alleyways without wasting time on travel.

Travel tips

Subway Line 2 connects Haeundae and Gwangan-ri, while Line 1 passes through the original downtown area. For Gamcheon Culture Village and Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, taxi is more time-efficient as public transportation transfers are inconvenient. It takes over 40 minutes from Haeundae to the original downtown, so it is best not to visit both on the same day. If you base your accommodation in Gwangan-ri or Haeundae, you can save time moving luggage.
